As summer drew to a close, GCWest gathered once again for our treasured annual event – the GCWest Cares Back to School Backpack Drive. This annual event has become a favorite among members of the firm, as it provides us the opportunity to work together with our children, while giving back to our local community.
Each year, we partner with a local non-profit to provide new backpacks and school supplies for students in need. Our kids help us fill each backpack with supplies and enclose hand-written letters of encouragement, wishing each recipient a great school year. Experiencing the joy of giving back to others, especially kids, has been incredibly impactful for us and for our children.
For the 2023-2024 school year, GCWest Cares was very grateful for the opportunity to partner with The Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach, providing 48 backpacks filled with nearly 1,300 pieces of assorted school supplies. The Boys and Girls Club provides members with a safe community and opportunities for positive development, sports, leadership and academic success. GCWest was happy to support the Boys and Girls Club in their stated mission of setting their members “on a path towards a brighter future.
