Summer Main is an Associate Attorney at GeneralCounselWest, advising healthcare companies in compliance, contracting, and regulatory matters. Summer has experience facilitating contract negotiations, as well as assisting clients in developing and implementing proactive legal strategies. In addition to her work at GeneralCounselWest, she is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association – Los Angeles County Medical Association Biomedical Ethics Committee.
Prior to joining GeneralCounselWest, Summer worked as a healthcare attorney with Fenton Law Group, LLP. She represented licensed healthcare professionals and healthcare entities at all stages of litigation and in transactional matters. She successfully represented clients with respect to a multitude of disputes related to Stark law, EMTALA, the False Claims Act, California Health and Welfare Code violations, and Managed Care claims, in state and federal court as well as within administrative settings. Additionally, she assisted business clients with various transactional needs such as HIPAA and CMIA policy development, management service agreements, and entity formation.
Summer earned her Juris Doctor with an Honors Concentration in Health Law and Policy from California Western School of Law, where she served on the Executive Committee of Moot Court Honors Board, was the Community Outreach Director for the Student Bar Association, and President of the Health Law Society. She was also an active competitor on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team, winning and placing in several national competitions. She also earned her Master’s Degree in Bioethics from Columbia University, focusing on healthcare policy development. Prior to law school she attended Post University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies, magna cum laude.
In her spare time Summer is an active volunteer; she has served on humanitarian aid missions in Uganda and Mexico, and regularly participates in homeless outreach in her local community. She enjoys cooking, watching Boston sports, and spending time with her three children.
She is licensed to practice law in the State of California, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California.
